Ellen Scholl Klinginsmith, 74, of Conneaut Lake, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 15, 2021.
She was born January 18, 1947 in Sharon, a daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy Stockfisch Scholl. She married James W. Klinginsmith June 16, 2000 and he survives.
Ellen was a 1964 graduate of Sharon High School and a 1968 graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She worked in the retail clothing industry for Lazarus Department Store in Columbus, OH as a buyer, senior buyer and manager from 1968-1978. She then worked for the Doody Company consulting firm for retail stores from 1978-1981. Ellen then moved back to Sharon and worked at the Strouss department store in Youngstown from 1981-1986 and then Kauffman’s in Pittsburgh and James Winner’s outlet store in Sharon. In 1987 she opened Ellen’s women’s clothing store in Sharon and also had a location in Warren, OH for a brief period. In 1993 she opened an Ellen’s location in Conneaut Lake and it was also at this time that she moved to Conneaut Lake. In 2002 she closed the last Ellen’s location in Conneaut Lake and obtained her real estate license and first worked for Coldwell Banker and then later Northwood Realty. In 2008 she obtained her Associate Broker’s real estate license and she subsequently retired in 2018.
Ellen was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake. She was also a member of the Iroquois Club where she served as the first woman president and was a former member of the Conneaut Lake Area Business Association. She was formerly an avid water skier, winning many tournaments. She absolutely loved Conneaut Lake.
Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Jim, include a brother, Chester (Barney) Scholl, Jr. (Carol) of Hermitage and a sister-in-law, Kathy Bradley (James) of Atlantic.
A private funeral service will be at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE with the Rev. Sam Heagy, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake, officiating.
Interment will be in Foust Cemetery.
