Ellener Louise Miller

Ellener Louise Miller, 86, of 271 Wood St., Meadville and most recently of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died at Meadville Medical Center, Wednesday April 13, 2005.

She was born in Titusville, May 31, 1918, a daughter of the late Andrew and Pauline Ritter Zimber.  She married Richard K. Miller May 31, 1940 and he preceded her in death January 2, 1982.  She subsequently married Theodore Shorts of Cambridge Springs April 22, 1989 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

A 1936 graduate of Titusville High School, she received her Registered Nurse’s diploma from the former Spencer Hospital.  She worked as a registered nurse at the former City Hospital and at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA and later became a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, Mark Karl Miller of Cheverly, MD and two sisters, Miriam Greeneberg of Orange, CA and Lucille Shields of Canfield, OH.  In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Carl Zimber.

There are no calling hours.

The memorial service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 649 Park Ave, Meadville with the Rev. Brian Moran, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
