Elmer E. Burge, 87, of Meadville, died Monday November 14, 1994, at Meadville Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was born in Cranesville, PA, April 20, 1907, a son of the late Laverne and Mary Smith Burge.
He first married Sadie Jane Bailey July 23, 1927. She died March 17, 1967. He subsequently married Mary E. Lemon October 19, 1968. She died June 20, 1983. He then married Adeline Patton on July 7, 1984. She survives.
Mr. Burge had first been employed for several years by the Erie Railroad. He then worked at Talon, Inc. for 42 years as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1972. He was a musician playing in many local bands and was a member of Zem Zem Shrine Temple Band, Erie since 1956. He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville; Cambridge Grange; Crawford Masonic Lodge #234, Meadville; Scottish Rite Bodies and Zem Zem Shrine Temple both of Erie.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Louise) Sutliff of Meadville; three granddaughters, five great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Sutliff, two sisters and three brothers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
