Elmer Willard Kelley

October 29, 1878 — October 31, 1957

The retired sales manager of Lightning Fastner Co., Elmer Willard Kelley, 79, died Thursday, October 31, 1957, at his home in Meadville.

Kelley served as sales manager with the St. Catharine, Ont., firm form 1928 until his retirement in 1948.  Before moving to Canada, he served briefly as advertising manager of Hookless Fastener Co., now Talon, Inc.  He made his home here for nine years.

He was an executive with Keystone View Co. for six years beginning in 1922.  He owned the E. W. Kelley Views of Philadelphia and Chicago before joining Keystone.  During World War I, he wrote a book on business management for the quartermaster corps in Chicago.

Born in Frankfort, KA, October 29, 1878, he was a son of William Henry and Myra Cathcart Kelley.  He married Laura Jones, who survives home on January 8, 1908.

A University of Kansas graduate, he was a founding member of the Meadville Lions Club and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Meadville Country Club, Lodge 408, Free and Accepted Masons, Coudersport Consistory and Zem Zem Temple, Erie.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eilzabeth Pauline of Meadville and Miss Myra Kelley of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Abel of Merced, CA; two brothers, Milton of Bastrop, TX and Carl of Wichita, KA; and two grandchildren, David and Laurel Pauline.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
