Eloise Mae (Boyd) Kosanovic

Eloise Mae Boyd Kosanovic, 88, formerly of Guys Mills, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her daughter’s home, Kay Damico in Indiana, PA.

She was born in Meadville August 14, 1923 a daughter of Howard and Florence Shaffer Boyd.  She married Mitchell Kosanovic May 2, 1959 and he preceded her in death December 11, 1998.

She graduated from Randolph High School and the Meadville Commercial College.  After her schooling she worked at Merchant Bank & Trust Co. and the Meadville Police Dept.

She was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills.  While at the church, she was a member of the choir and was the organist for many years.  Eloise enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren, watching hockey and was a master at crossword puzzles as well as the Jeopardy game show.

Survivors, include: a daughter, Kay Damico and her husband Peter of Indiana, PA; a son, Richard Kosanovic and his wife Amy currently conducting mission work in Chang Mai, Thailand; four grandchildren, Zachary Damico of Philadelphia, Abby Damico of Indiana, Kaitlyn Kosanovic and Allison Kosanovic both of Chang Mai, Thailand; four brothers, Jack Boyd of Townville, Russell Boyd and his wife Virginia of Guys Mills, Dale Boyd and his wife Karol of Sanford, NC and Dave Boyd and his wife Marilyn of Meadville; two sisters, Jean Rumsey and her husband Gene of Meadville and Carolyn Miller and her husband Wilford of Guys Mills; a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Boyd of Meadville and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald H. Boyd.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Coddington, Pastor of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills, officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
