Mrs. Elsbeth Cummings Black, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Tuesday, April 20, 1976.
Born in Westfield, NY, on April 6, 1885, she was a daughter of George and Mary Mertz. She was the widow of James G. Cummings who died in 1923 and also of Elmer Black who died in 1933. Mrs. Black was a clerk for many years at the Red and White Store formerly located at North and North Main Streets. She was a 50 year member of First Presbyterian Church of Meadville and a member of its former Priscilla Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. E. T. (Dorothy) Patterson of Meadville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Thomas L. (Faith D.) Allison of Meadville; a great-grandson, Clark Ewing Allison of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews in Meadville.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
