Elsie M. Sheets

Elsie M. Sheets, 82, formerly of W. Oil Creek Road, Meadville and a resident of Golden Living Center since last May, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born in Dunmore, WV August 29, 1925 a daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn Clark Kelley.  She married Kyle J. Sheets July 29, 1944 and he preceded her in death October 5, 2007.

She was a homemaker that especially enjoyed sewing, cooking and hunting.  She attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors, include: three daughters, Susie Hutchinson of Corry, Charlotte Cline and her husband Nathan of Encinitas, CA and Lois Hunter of Meadville; two sons, Robert J. Sheets of Meadville and George W. Sheets and his wife Tammy of Corry; eight sisters, Dorothy Emerson, Noreen Simmons, Mona Rankin, Frances Taylor, Lucille Ratliff, Georgia Townsend, Kathy Wolfe and Leta Wilfon; one bother, Edsel Kelley, eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Carl L. Sheets and an infant sister, Martha A. Kelley.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Blair Smith, Asera Care Hospice Chaplain.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
