Elva L. Teed

November 2, 1918 — June 24, 1997

Elva L. Teed, 78, of Guys Mills, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at home following a recent illness.

She was born November 2, 1918 in Clearfield, PA a daughter of the late Fred and May Swaub Weaver.  She married Almer Teed November 26, 1938.  He survives.

Mrs. Teed worked as a waitress at Wdiel's Restaurant for 13 years, at which time she and her husband purchased the business and she operated it was Teed's Restaurant for 10 years.  She subsequently worked at the lunch counter of Woolworth Department Store and then the cafeteria at Talon for 11 years.

She was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, formerly a member of Black Ash United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge #219 Aux.  She was a 1938 graduate of Randolph High School and she enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Mr. Joseph (Grace) Teed of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Judy) Johnston of Meadville; a foster daughter, Mrs. Terry (Daphne) Mailliard of Guys Mills; a brother, Clifford Weaver of Mesquite, NM; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Elsie Mook, Edna Doyle, Nora Gregor, Eva Harvey and Mary Hoover and three brothers, Fred Weaver, Jr., Norman Weaver and Charles Weaver.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
