Enid Malyn Corey

Enid Malyn Corey, 76, of 12343 State Hwy 198, Guys Mills, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born December 22, 1929 in Harmonsburg, a daughter of the late Lloyd Radcliffe and Mamre Perry Hueston.  She had been married to Marsden L. Corey.

She was a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School where she excelled in basketball and was an honor’s student.  She was a homemaker and mother for 34 years and retired from Seeley Medical Supply Company of Andover, OH following 14 years of service.  In retirement, she worked part-time at the Crawford County Historical Society.  She was a member of the Crawford County Genealogical Society, Crawford County Historical Society, and was a past board member of the Crawford Unit of the American Cancer Society.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, photography, and was an avid family genealogist.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Jill M. Corey-Groves and her fiancé Randall Stevenson of Meadville; 2 sons, James R. Corey of Juneau, Alaska and Richard A. Corey of Silsbee, TX; 1 grandson, Benjamin Corey of Gulfport, MS; 4 step-grandchildren, Christopher Finley of Gulfport, MS; Joseph Ballas and his wife Linda of Erie; Diana Stellmach and her husband Duane of Girard; and Michael Ballas of Binghamton, NY; 2 step-great-grandsons, Scott and Dustin Ballas; a sister-in-law, Twila Corey of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gretchen Fornoff, Pastor of Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church officiating.

Interment will be in Hatch Cemetery.
