Ethel F. Patton

Ethel F. Patton, 82 of Sandy Lake, passed away on May 7, 2021 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. Ethel was born on April 16, 1939 in Sharon to the late Cecil J. and Ethel (King) Wells. She worked for many years as the owner and operator of Patton’s Ceramic Shop and managed the Sandy Lake Breese Newspaper. She also was a dedicated wife and mother, helping her husband on the farm and raising their children. Ethel was a member of the Jerusalem Christian Church. She loved yard sales, garage sales, rummage sales, and traveling. She enjoyed teaching the Oakview second graders about ceramics and letting them paint their own ceramic bunny, doing so for over 20 years. Most of all she loved her family, helping her husband on the farm, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ethel was married to her beloved husband, Harry L. Patton Jr. He survives at home. In addition to her husband, Ethel is survived by her children, Daniel Patton and wife Tammy of Sandy Lake, Debra Montgomery and husband Dean of Jackson Center, and Patrick Patton and wife Kristen of Stoneboro, grandchildren Amanda (Donnie) Irwin, Katie (Stephen) Erdley, Jaretta (Dan) Barker, Justin (Polina) Montgomery, Ryan (Justine) Dennis, and Aaron Dennis, granddaughter-in-law Meagan Montgomery, fourteen great-grandchildren, sister Lucille Messina, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley Montgomery, and siblings Cecil James Wells, Margaret Irwin, Paul Wells, and Robert Wells. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2 pm – 4pm & 6 pm – 8pm on Monday, May 10. Additional visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 11 from 10 am – 11 am. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11 am with the Pastor John Canon, officiating.
