Ethel Hancock Rogers, 84, formerly of Clayton, NJ, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, PA since April 1997, died there Sunday November 11, 2001.
She was born at Hancock Bridge, Salem County, NJ, June 28, 1917, a daughter of Warren S. & Bertha String Hancock. She married Roland D. Rogers April 13, 1935, and he preceded her in death May 11, 1986.
A homemaker, she enjoyed handcrafts, and had been a member Trinity United Methodist Church of Clayton.
Survivors include a son Allen W. Rogers and his wife Sandy of Meadville; 2 grandsons, Mark Rogers and Dan Rogers and his wife Robin all of Meadville, 4 great grandchildren, Kelly, Kyle, Cory, & Casey Rogers; and a sister, Alma Hancock of Bridgton, NJ.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Viola Griner, Della Hancock, Edith Harvey, & Myra Hancok.
A calling hour will Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. be at Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St. Bridgeton, NJ where funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Bridgeton.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
