Ethel M. Luzier

Ethel M. Luzier, 87, of Meadville and formerly of Guys Mills died at home surrounded by her family Monday, August 14, 2017.

She was born in Meadville May 2, 1930 a daughter of Delbert and Sarah Brady Gable.  She married Howard G. Luzier, Sr. August 9, 1952 and he preceded her in death February 27, 1976.

She worked several places over the years including in the kitchen at the former City Hospital and at Wesbury United Methodist Community, as an aid in the Penncrest School District and at the former Con Puckley’s Restaurant in Meadville.  She was of the Protestant faith and loved raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bingo, gardening and doing puzzles.

She is survived by eight children, Howard G. Luzier, Jr. and Linda Lou Luzier with whom she lived, Karen Sue Moore of Meadville, Diane Lynn Holsopple and her husband Aaron of Frenchtown, Judy Ann Keating of Raleigh, NC, Kimberly S. Hosick and her husband Harry of Guys Mills, Tina Marie Eldred and her husband Dennis of Guys Mills and Cherie A. Hartman and her husband Todd of Union City; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Benak of Meadville and Dorothy Hargenrater and her husband Don of Black Ash; two brothers, Edward Gable and his wife Lucille of Meadville and Arthur Gable and his wife Nancy of Saegertown and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Popovich, Katherine Clark and Annabelle Gable; four brothers, Charles Gable, Albert Gable, James Gable and Harold Gable; two grandsons, Kevin Eugene Moore and John Howard (Jack) Keating and a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Holsopple

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
