Eugene F. Gourley, 97, of Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community died there, Thursday, June 8, 2017.
He was born in Meadville February 21, 1920 a son of Myron David and Martha Ellert Gourley. He married Caroline Leona Hauschel in August 5, 1939 and she preceded him in death. He subsequently married Mary Ellen Armstrong in 1987 and she preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and worked as a tool maker for McCroskey Tool for 45 years retiring in 1985. He was a very talented carpenter and electrician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his many trips to Canada.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald D. “Butch” Gourley and his wife Patricia of Meadville and Thomas W. Gourley of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Michelle Sorino of Tennessee and Ronald Gourley of Florida and his wonderful faithful friend Wilma Smith of Meadville.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George William Gourley and Arthur Gourley.
Calling hours will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
