Eugene Orr Cunningham

Eugene Orr Cunningham, 84, of Conneaut Lake, died April 28, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born March 2, 1919 in Putneyville, a son of the late Harry Martin and Clara Orr Cunningham.  He married Grayce Mattocks, December 5, 1945.

He was a graduate of Kittanning High School and was a US Army Veterans of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.  He worked as a laborer at the R. D. Werner Co., Greenville and previously at the Meadville Malleable Co.  He enjoyed gardening.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Harry Cunningham (Carol) of Butler and Lt. Col. Jeffry Cunningham (Susan) Mellring of Ft. Meade, MD; a daughter, Christine Bloom (Kenneth) of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, Valerie Lynn Kurth, Andrew Jeremy Cunningham, Matthew Pitor Bloom, Melissa Grayce Bloom, Elizabeth Bloom, Kirstie Renee Cunningham, Rachel Lynne Cunningham and Glen William Cunningham; one great-grandchild expected; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Cunningham and a sister, Leona Cunningham.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
