Eva E. Devore

August 27, 1880 — January 31, 1963

Mrs. Eva E. DeVore, 82, wife of Clarence C. DeVore, of Meadville, died Thursday, January 31, 1963, at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. DeVore was born in Meadville, August 27, 1880, a daughter of Dennis and Louesa Pees Roche.  She married Mr. DeVore May 1, 1901.  She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and was active in a number of its organizations and was a Sunday School teacher there for several years.  She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rota Literary Club, Meadville Woman's Club and the American Legion, Aux.

Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. James E. (Geraldine) Wettach of Meadville and Mrs. H. B. (Ruth) Knapp of Meadville; a son, Roy DeVore of Erie; a sister, Mrs. Charles Kelley of Meadville; two brothers, Clarence Roche of Meadville and William Roche of Hialeah, FL; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
