Eva L. Shady, 92, formerly of Yorktown House, Meadville and a resident of Juniper Village since September 2008 died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Toronto, Ontario December 28, 1917 a daughter of William and Mary Johnson Davenport. She married Wilbur M. Shady September 1, 1940 and he preceded her in death January 14, 1991.
She was a 1935 graduate of Northside High School, Corning, NY. She worked briefly at American Viscose Corp. but was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and the Meadville Women's Club, head of volunteers at the former Spencer Hospital, was active at the YWCA and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors, include: four nieces, Connie Jannot of Mt. Vernon, OH, Chris Nordberg of Pittsburgh, Linda Avila of Mexico City, Mexico and Doreen Friebis of Painted Post, NY; one nephew, Nick Pahoulis of Glastonbury, CT and several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Moyle and Lucille Pahoulis.
Calling hours will be Monday from 12-2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Spahr, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
