Eva Mae Olsen

Eva Mae Olsen, 98, formerly of Cochranton, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community from July 1982 to December 1996, and a resident of the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown since December 1996, died there Monday, March 4, 2002.

She was born October 20, 1903 in Hadley, a daughter of the late Russell F. and Albertina Dean Beal.  She married Dr. William R. Olsen, Chiropractor June 22, 1921 and he preceded her in death November 19, 1982.

She was a graduate of the Hadley Public Schools and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Cochranton United Methodist Church and its Amity Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.  She was a member of Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and was a former member of the Cochranton Reading Club Cochranton Grange and Cochranton Firemen’s auxiliary.

Survivors include 1 son, Glenn W. Olsen of Zephyrhills, FL; 1 daughter, Virginia M. Olsen of Shippensburg; 6 grandchildren, Gail Kepner, Nancy Reitmeyer, and Eric, Karen, James, and Wanda Olsen; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, E. Lyle Olsen; 1 sister, Pearl Turner; and 3 brothers, Ralph, William, and Chester Beal.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cribbs Home Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Stallsmith, retired clergyman officiating.

Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
