Evangeline Fitzsimmons

Evangeline 'Vange' Fitzsimmons, 75, of Meadville, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of several weeks. She was born in Meadville, April 20, 1924, a daughter of Datus and Anna Swavey Hunter. She married Howard H. Fitzsimmons February 14, 1942. He survives. She worked at Talon as a production worker for 26 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, member and treasurer of Allanon and a member of the Alzheimer's support group. She enjoyed walking, gardening, cooking, camping, helping others and was an avid hockey fan. Survivors in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Carol Gracey (Wayne) of Chugiak, AK; two sons, Dale A. Fitzsimmons (Karen) and Duane E. Fitzsimmons (Jennifer), both of Meadville; a brother, Walter Hunter of Meadville; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Shawn Gracey, Ryan Fitzsimmons and Duane A. Fitzsimmons, Jr. and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and David Fitzsimmons; a sister, Viola Anthony and a brother, Merle Hunter. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
