Evelyn J. (O'Bagy) Mcgowan

Evelyn J. McGowan, 83, of Meadville died Friday, February 8, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born August 8, 1935 in Pittsburgh a daughter of Albert W. and Mollie M. Popovich O’Bagy.  She married Thomas L. (Tuck) McGowan August 26, 1958 and he preceded her in death December 13, 1993.

She was a graduate of Randolph/East Mead High School and worked first at Lincoln Market and then for many years at Channellock Inc. retiring in 1993.  She loved decorating cakes and enjoyed reupholstering furniture, but especially enjoyed family times.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra Kent of Guys Mills; four grandchildren, Thomas Urey (Mandy), Shannon Urey (Corey), Brad Urey, Jr. (Angela) and Billy Urey (Melissa); ten great grandchildren, Thomas, Tucker, Andrew, Derrek, Gage, Johnathon, Erica, Dylan, Cameron and Ryder; a sister, Charlotte Pratt of Guys Mills and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill O’Bagy and a sister, Karen A. Willey.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 12th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Van Cise, Pastor of Chapmanville Community Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
