Faith Irene Hamilton

Faith Irene Hamilton of Curwensville and formerly of Meadville, best friend to her husband and loving mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2018 at the age of 73.

Faith was the daughter of Carl and Bernice Thompson Marsh of Clymer, NY.  On July 21, 1962 she married John Hamilton and served as his partner and mother of John and Jocelyn.

Faith worked for various companies in the Meadville area after marriage, and then found her calling with 35 years in medical transcription for Union City and Meadville hospitals until retirement at the age of 69.  She also spent many of those years in church service teaching Sunday School and playing piano.

Many people will remember Faith listening to their stories, and truly caring for them.  She participated in many service clubs; she enjoyed reading, knitting, and cooking.  The last few years she looked forward to meals with her grandchildren and many conversations with her husband.  She was an anchor that many people could count on.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Scot; a brother, Carl, and a sister Elouise.  She is survived by her husband, John; children, John (Sheila) and Jocelyn; and six grandchildren, Olivia, Emily, Madeleine, Amanda, Abigail, and Michael.  She was also blessed by a large extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday, September 13th from 12 to 2 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Corner officiating.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
