Faleda F. Hunter

Faleda F. Hunter, 96, formerly of Guys Mills and a resident of Abington-Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Erie, died there Sunday, October 2, 2016. She was born in Wayne Twp., Crawford County July 16, 1920 a daughter of C. Ray and Addie Brown Foster. She married Rodney W. Hunter May 31, 1940 and he preceded her in death July 1, 2008. She was a graduate of Sunville Academy, Sunville, PA and worked for many years at Free-Col Laboratories, Meadville. She was active with the senior citizens of Townville enjoying their bus trips. The family would like to thank the Gingrich family, who lived next door, for the help they provided Faleda and also the many others who helped in several ways over the years. She is survived by a son, Roy Hunter and his wife Joyce of Erie; four daughters, Wanda Sutton of Philippi, WV, Ijenna Getty and her husband Richard of Cambridge Springs, Sandra Atkin of Saegertown and Bonnie Leamer and her husband Robert of North East, PA; a brother Allan Foster and his wife Winnie of Guys Mills; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Loyal Hunter; a great granddaughter, Alexis Shaver; two sisters, Desta Deeter and Mavia Foster; a brother, Elery Foster and a former son-in-law, Dennis L. Sutton. Calling hours will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Anthony Gingrich, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
