Fern B. Lodge, 85, of Meadville, formerly of Cambridge Springs, died at Meadville Medical Center Monday, October 7, 1991, following a one-week illness.
She was born in Edinboro, February 26, 1906, a daughter of William and Saloma Tuttle Shrader. She married Charles S. Lodge, June 15, 1927. He preceded her in death January 13, 1990.
She assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm at Cambridge Springs, retiring in 1972 and moving to Blooming Valley. She had taught school for one year in Venango. She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church and a former member of the Edinboro Presbyterian Church; a 1924 graduate of Edinboro State Normal School. She was a member of the Edinboro Grange since 1920, and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Lorene) Caldwell of Adamsville and Mrs. Louis (Linda) Marquis of Richland, WA; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Jeanette) Hornaman of Cambridge Springs; four nieces; a nephew; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Monroe Shrader and two sons, James Robert and Charles Eugene Lodge.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
