Floanne G. Peterson

Floanne G. Peterson, 82, of Meadville died Monday, April 23, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 15, 1930 in Meadville a daughter of Frederick C. and Harriet Veith Gisewhite.  She married Bernard L. (Pete) Peterson July 8, 1950 and he preceded her in death February 10, 2011.

She was a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School and worked from 1948-1954 at American Viscose Corp until she and her husband started their family.  She was a life member of Elks Lodge #219 Ladies Auxiliary, life member of Golden Crown Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a member of Shawnee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was a Committee Woman and Judge of Elections at West Mead #2 VFD; volunteered in the Home Show #2 building at the Crawford County Fair and was a member of the MASH Band Boosters for several years.  She enjoyed her card club, genealogy and liked gardening.

Survivors, include four children, Steve Peterson of Gettysburg, PA, Jeffrey (Pete) Peterson and his wife Cyndi of Venango, Lianne (Kim) Benedict of Kingman, AZ and Tracy L. Wilcox and her husband Spencer of Guys Mills; eight grandchildren, Chandrah Raleigh, Alanah Peterson, Ryanah Peterson, Leah Peterson, Ronda Benedict, Ryan Benedict, Jennifer L. Mascitti and Matthew G. Wilcox; six great grandchildren, Dakota, Damien, Devin, Kyler, Sierra and Konnor; a sister, Jill Perrotto and her husband Larry of West Frankfort, IL; a brother, Frederick (Fritz) Gisewhite and his wife Helen of Bath, OH and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7:45 p.m. and a Daughters of the American Revolution service at 3:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, Meadville Medical Center, Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
