Flora Harris Rowan

Mrs. Flora Harris Rowan, 49, of Meadville, died at Spencer Hospital Tuesday, August 28, 1962, after a long illness.

She was born at Port Gibson, MS, January 22, 1913, a daughter of the Rev. Austin N. and Mary Buck Harris.

Mrs. Rowan was a member of St. John's Baptist Church of Abigail Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; of Queen Alona Temple Aux. of the Elks and of Purple Cross Nurses.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daugher, Miss Lillie Rowan of Erie; a son, Randall stationed with the US Marines in Heidelberg, Germany; nine sisters, Mrs. Virginia Irving of Belzoni, MS, Mrs. Josie Lee Clark and Mrs. Hattie Slater of Chicago, Mrs. Ethel Beasley of Santa Monica, CA, Mrs. Lillie Stephy of Columbus, MS, Mrs. Emma  Polk, Mrs. Martha Durham and Mrs. Mary Durham of Jackson, MS and Levy Harris of Chicago and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
