Floran W. Rose, 78, of Meadville, died at Greenville Hospital, Greenville, Wednesday, February 4, 1970, after a long illness. Mr. Rose and his wife had been residing at the Whitecliff Nursing Home at Greenville since June 1969.
He was born at Fredonia, Mercer County, December 19, 1891, a son of Harry E. and Jennie Peat Rose. He was married to the former Clara Wenzel.
Mr. Rose was employed in the lumbering business in Cambridge Springs for many years. During World War II, he served as a supervisor at Keystone Ordnance Works.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sons, Harry E. of Meadville and Carl W. of Geneva, OH; one sister, Miss Lucille Rose of Fredonia; one brother, Willis Rose of Fredonia, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, Russell, died January 26, 1970.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
