Florence A. Miller

Florence A. Miller, 87, formerly of Cussewago Road Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center since June 1, 2000 died there Wednesday, February 20, 2002 following a period of declining health.

She was born in Windber, PA April 21, 1914 a daughter of the late Rudolph and Adele Kyncl Horak.  She married Walter L. Miller June 17, 1939 and he preceded her in death December 29, 1989.

She retired from Talon’s plant 7 as a production worker after 38 years of service.  She was a 1932 graduate of Meadville High School, a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church, Meadville and a member of the Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary where she enjoyed practicing her specialties of baking, cooking and helping the less fortunate.  She was also a member of the Old Timer’s Club and the AFL-CIO.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cleaning.

Survivors, include two sons, Thomas W. Miller and his wife Cindy of Linesville and Daniel W. Miller and his wife Patricia of Meadville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, Chad Miller and Curt Miller; 4 step-grandchildren, Eugene Reaugh, Jeffrey Reaugh, Nicolle Perrotto and Jeanna Perrotto; also great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marybell Bird of Guys Mills; a brother, Milton Horak of Randolph, NY and two nephews and a niece.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Vera Horak; a niece, Carol Schiller and a nephew, Gordon Horak.

Calling hours will be Friday from 1-3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Drew Elling, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
