Florence Egli, 94, of Conneaut Lake, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at her residence following a short cancer illness.
She was born in Dashwood, Ontario, Canada September 11, 1913, a daughter of the late Valentine and Emma Gingerich Gerber. She married Samuel Noah Egli September 14, 1937 and he preceded her in death November 10, 1978.
She was a dedicated homemaker and very active member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church where she was a former choir member. An avid gardener, quilter, excellent cook and baker, she enjoyed entertaining friends at her home, participating in bible study, music and singing. She especially loved her family.
Survivors include 5 children, Roger Egli and his wife Ferne of LaJunta, CO; Dennis Egli of Lexington, KY; Merlyn Egli and his wife Joanna of Marysville, OH; Charles Egli and his wife Darla of Bloomington, IN; and Shirley Stickney and her husband Jeffrey of Orange, CA; 7 grandchildren, Richard, Laura, Sara, Kathy, Brian, and Kevin Egli and Tonya Brooks; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Kenneth Gerber and his wife Isabel of Hartstown and Lloyd Gerber and his wife Phyllis of Hartstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Egli and 2 brothers, Melvin and Mervin Gerber.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.
A funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 12981 Foust Rd., Conneaut Lake with the Rev. Russ Richardson, church Pastor and the Rev. Rob Esh, co-officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
