Mrs. Florence Emerson, 76, of Guys Mills, died suddenly on Friday, October 22, 1971, at Spencer Hospital where she had been a patient for one week.
She was born in Meadville, March 17, 1895, a daughter of Thomas and Gertrude Stugart Martin. She first married John Swavey and after his death, she married Theodore R. Emerson who died in 1954. Mrs. Emerson formerly was employed by Talon Division of Textron, Inc., and by the Van Rault Silk Mill. She was a member of the United Church of Guys Mills and its Laides Aid Society and of Randolph Grange.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Margaret) Pierce, with whom she made her home, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Scribner of Richmond, VA; one brother, Sanford Martin of Saegertown; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
