Florence H. Stewart

Florence H. Stewart, 97, formerly of Albany and Hoosick Falls, NY, and a patient at Mead Nursing Home, Inc., since July 1977, died at the home Friday, April 11, 1980, after an extended illness.

She was born in Melrose, Rensselar County, NY, June 7, 1882, a daughter of Ambrose S. and Harriet DeFreest Chase.  She married Adelbert T. Stewart in 1909.  He died in 1953.

She was a member of Madison Ave. Baptist Church of Albany.  She also was a life member of Rensselar Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, of Hoosick Falls.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Murial Hunt of Albany, Mrs. Virginia Bauer of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mrs. Janet Day of Meadville; a son, Clayton C. Stewart of Schenectady, NY; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY.
