Florence Jeanne Pfalzgraf, 80, of Krider Road, Meadville, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
She was born Ingram, PA February 8, 1928 a daughter of Newlon and Virginia Hodges Coulter. She married Paul Kenneth Pfalzgraf June 14, 1952 and he survives.
She was a graduate of Crafton High School and received her bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and was its Financial Secretary for over 30 years.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. She recently participated in a project through her daughter’s church in Brookfield, WI, knitting over 100 crew caps for members of the armed forces to wear as a helmet liner.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Ken of 56 years, include: a son, Richard N. Pfalzgraf of Meadville; a daughter, Susan K. Reidel and her husband Glenn of Brookfield, WI; two grandchildren, Jennifer Reidel and Kimberly Lohr and her husband Murray and two cousins, Jack Hodges of Boulder, CO and Bob Hodges of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Stone United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Spahr, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street or the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
