Florence M. Johnston

Florence M. Johnston, 76, of Meadville, a patient at Wesbury United Methodist Community since May 10, 1989, died at Wesbury Friday, May 18, 1990, following a sudden illness.

She was born in Vernon Township February 4, 1914, a daughter of Joseph and Clara Williams Schwab.  She married Patterson Johnston June 7, 1934.  He preceded her in death February 9, 1976.

She had been employed as a sales clerk at the former Johh J. Shryock Co. and also at the former Crawford Store, and also had worked at Talon.

She was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church and Vernon Grange.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Norma) Palmer of Meadville; a son, Theodore E. Johnston of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Evelyn) Limano of Meadville and Agnes Sayre of Meadville; a brother, Virgil Schwab of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Theodore, Albert and Edward Schwab.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
