Florence M. Walls

Florence M. Walls, 90, formerly of Blooming Valley and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Sunday, October 11, 2015.

She was born December 17, 1924 in Meadville a daughter of Lee and Zelma Tubbs Vaughn.  She married Jack S. Walls Sr., April 27, 1946 and he preceded her in death September 11, 2010.

She worked at Talon during World War II to support the war effort and then was a stay at home mom, raising her family.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, taking care of her home and she was an excellent cook.

She is survived by three sons, Douglas David Walls and his wife Kay of Finksburg, MD, Donald C. Walls of Meadville and Jack S. Walls, Jr. and his wife Diane of Cochranton; a step-daughter, Janet Walls of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren including Travis Walls of New York City and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Gary Lee Walls; a brother, Ralph Vaughn; and five sisters, Geraldine Rathbun, Mary Lee McQuiston, Georgia Stanford, Frances Junk and Helen Miller.

Private family calling hours will be held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

A public funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hunter, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
