Florence Marie Wilson, 87, a resident for most of her life in Western PA and Northeastern Ohio, died Saturday February 23, 2002, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio.
She was born in West Albion, Erie County, PA, February 21, 1915, a daughter of Charles and Althea Shauberger Peck. She married Lt. Commander, James E. Wilson, USN Ret. and he preceded her in death in 1978. She accompanied him to his many military stations where she had been an active Red Cross Volunteer working to support military personnel and their families. She was a graduate of Albion Public Schools and was a homemaker and loved her lord.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Renee) Semerod of Slippery Rock, PA and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Sheets of St. Petersburg, FL; two sons, Richard (Lorraine) Wilson of Safety Harbor, FL and Neil (Jacqueline) Wilson of Leroy, OH; four grandchildren, Cathy Chutz, Carly Martin, Andrew Wilson and Neil (Willlie) Wilson; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Rausch, Lillian Knapp and Bertha Byerley and a granddaughter, Cynthia Semerod.
Calling hours and funeral services will be Thursday Feb. 28, 2002, at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. James M. Seeley, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, PA.
Burial will be in the family plot in Dicksonburg Cemetery, Dicksonburg, PA.
