Florence Myra Clayton

Florence Myra Clayton, 77, of Meadville, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born January 13, 1932 in Helefield, England a daughter of Oliver and Margaret Taylor Houghton.  She met her beloved husband of 49 years, Donald Clayton in Helefield and he survives.  They were married September 12, 1959.

She was a homemaker who touched everyone who knew her.  She loved her backporch in the summer, her flower gardens, baking her famous cookies and doing her crossword puzzles.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, her four children, Garry Clayton and his wife Missy of Meadville, Edward Clayton and his wife Laurie of Guys Mills, Sharon Clayton and her companion Ronald Hayden, Jr. of Meadville and Karla Stewart and her companion Richard Crago of Guys Mills; her five grandchildren, Justin and Crystal Copeland of Townville, Ashley Stewart of Meadville and Austin and Connor Crago of Guys Mills; her two sisters, Doris and her friend of England and Rena and her husband Ron of New Zealand; her three brothers, Mark Houghton and his wife Barbara , John Houghton and his wife Shiela and George Houghton all of England and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Betty Houghton.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, Assoc. Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church and Meadville Medical Center Chaplain, officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
