Florence S. Braun

Mrs. Florence S. Braun, 80, a resident of the United Methodist Home and Hospital since September 1974, wife of the Rev. George R. D. Braun, died there Saturday, January 13, 1979, after an extended illness.

She was born in Salem Township, Clarion County, May 4, 1898, daughter of William E. and Blanche Bole Slaugenhoupt.  She married the Rev. Mr. Braun June 20, 1922.  She was a member of Fredonia United Methodist Church.  She graduated from Wilkinsburg public schools and had attended National College at Kansas City, MO.  She had assisted her husband as he served various pastorates in the United Methodist Church in Western New York State and northwestern PA, including pastorates at New Richmond, Guys Mills and Grace United Methodist Church.  She had served as superintendent.

Survivors in addition to her husband, a resident of the United Methodist Home, include a daughter, Mrs. Ladd (Janet) Lingo of Meadville; a son, Robert E. Braun of Clarion; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
