Floyd A. Smith, 65, a former resident of Cochranton died at a Winston-Salem, NC hospital Wednesday, September 5, 1973, after a two-week illness.
He was born at Rome, OH, August 29, 1908, a son of Delose and Addie Owen Smith. He married Ida Freyermuth in 1928. He was a retired engineer for Valley Homes, Inc., of Jonesville, NC and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Cochranton school and attended Edinboro State College. He served with the US Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.
Survivors include his widow; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Carroll of Chardon, OH and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Clyde W. Smith, preceded him in death.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
