Floyd H. Tingley

July 1, 1909 — May 28, 1970

Floyd H. Tingley, 60, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Thursday, May 28, 1970, after an illness of three months.

He was born in Jackson Township, Venango County, July 1, 1909, a son of John and Maude Brown Tingley.  He married the former Eva Mae Rogers March 27, 1937.

Mr. Tingley attended Allegheny College and graduated in 1931 from Beckley Commercial College at Harrisburg.  He had been employed as a clerk in the store department at American Viscose Division, FMC Corp., for 35 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, its administrative board of Wesley Crusaders Sunday School Class.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 408, the Eagles Lodge and Meadville Rescue Squad.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sons, Ronald F. of Columbus, OH and John R. of Kent, OH; his father; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Armburger and one brother, Albert, all of Cooperstown.  His mother, one brother and two sisters died previously.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
