Floyd L. Bishop

October 8, 1928 — July 23, 2000

Floyd L. Bishop, 71, of Meadville, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA following a stroke.

He was born in Greenville, October 8, 1928, a son of Lisle and Ethel Mowry Bishop.  He married Carolyn Hull, May 17, 1953.  She survives.

He was a 1946 graduate of Greenville High School and a 1951 graduate of Tri-State University in Angola, IN with a degree in Business Education.  He was first employed with Ernst and Ernst of Cleveland for 15 years, then with Ernst and Ernst International in New York City.  He subsequently worked for American Home Products in New York City, Wyeth Labs in Philadelphia, then as controller of RD Warner Co. of Greenville for a brief period, then vice president of Sudbury, Inc. of Cleveland and finally a consultant for several years for various businesses.

He was an associate member of Stone United Methodist Church, a fifty-year member of Eureka Masonic Lodge #290 of Greenville, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle.  He was a collector of Lionel trains and antique cars.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two nieces, Kelly Yurkovich of Canfield, OH and Caroline McMeekin of Washington, DC and two nephews, John McMeekin of Plymouth, MI and Andrew Hull of Fairfax, VA.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Delaware Cemetery, Delaware Township, Mercer County, PA.
