Fran J. Heckman, 81 of Sandy Lake, passed away on December 24, 2023 at AHN Grove City. Fran was born in New Lebanon on June 13, 1942 to the late John and Pearl (Hill) Hamilton. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School and worked for many years at GTI in Hadley.
Fran was a member of the Unity of Faith Church, formerly Stoneboro Methodist Church, for many years. She enjoyed puzzles and reading. She also enjoyed mowing the grass and “supervising” her husband and family with anything they were working on. She loved baking cookies and making fudge for others to enjoy. Most of all she adored her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma.
She married her beloved husband, Paul "Ed" Heckman on September 23, 1961. He survives at home. Also surviving are her daughters: Marti (Lydia) Heckman of Estero, FL; and Lonna (Bill) Fischer of Stoneboro, grandchildren: Caitlin (Camaron) Alexander; Raygen (Fiancé Sean Zillig) Fischer; Reise Fischer; and Travis (Rachelle) Marsteller, great-grandchildren: Finley Alexander; and Emma; Leigha; Alexa; and Gavin Marsteller, sister: Marjorie Medberry, and son-in-law: Clay Marsteller.
In addition to her parents Fran was preceded in death by her daughter: Marci Marsteller; great-grandson: Dawson Marsteller, and 9 siblings.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Thursday, December 28. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on Friday, December 29, with Rev. Glenn Walker, officiating, with a luncheon to follow.
Interment will take place in New Lebanon Cemetery.
