Frances E. Virtue

Frances E. Virtue, 74, Guys Mills, died Sunday, May 1, 1983, at Spencer Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Virtue was born in East Mead Township, October 26, 1908, the daughter of John and Emma Maloney Williams.  She married Ivan A. Virtue, December 23, 1929.

She taught school in Guys Mills and Kerrtown, and then assisted in the operation of the family farm near Guys Mills.  Mrs. Virtue was a member of the United Church of Guys Mills and the church's Ladies Aid Society, a member of Randolph Grange, a former member of the Crawford County Extension Board, sat on the board of directors of the Community Ambassador Program, and was active in the Guys Mills Parent-Teacher Assn.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Siverling of Harborcreek, Mrs. Darwin (Carol) Braund of Fayetteville, NY and Mrs. James (Sandra) Corselius of Clarks Summit; a son, Ivan A. Virtue, Jr. of Guys Mills; one brother, John J. Williams of Meadville and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ellwood and a sister, Mrs. Claire Bly.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
