Frances (Pendleton) Spinnato

Frances Pendleton Spinnato, 89, formerly of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown for the past year, passed away there Saturday, July 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 11, 1927 in Meadville, a daughter of the late John H. and Jane M. Triola Pendleton.  She had been married to Peter Spinnato.

Fran was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School.  She had worked at Talon, Islay’s on North Street, Heatrex, and retired from the Penn State Cooperative Extension where she worked as a nutrition aide.

Fran was a dedicated member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and a volunteer at Meadville Medical Center for 25 years in her later years.  She enjoyed playing cards, loved walking, and belonged to a women’s bowling league for many years until her health declined.

Survivors include three children, Mary Ellen Spinnato Muse and her husband William Jr. of Jamestown, John Spinnato and his wife Beth of Conneaut Lake, and Scott Spinnato and his wife Karen of Saegertown; a sister, Mary Jane Gerard of Meadville; five grandchildren, Scott Spinnato, Jr. and his wife Kelin of Meadville, Christina Dean and her husband Jerrod of Meadville, Joseph Spinnato of Meadville, Sarah Muse Lind and her husband Dusty of Franklin, and William Muse, III of Franklin; nine great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Mackenzie, Jory, Justus, Blake, Hayden, Logan, Lorna, and Addisyn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Bell on July 7, 2016.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Johnathan P. Schmolt as Celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Hwy 198, Saegertown, PA 16433.
