Francis H. Williams, 89, formerly of Meadville, died Saturday, January 20, 1968, at the Flickinger Convalescent Home where he had been a patient since March 1966. He had been ill for several years.
He was born in Meadville, June 28, 1878, a son of Arthur and Esther Olmstead Williams. His wife, the former Edna Wenzel, died in October 1953.
Mr. Williams was a self-employed pattern maker until his retirement.
He was a member of Grace Methodist Church which he helped to construct in 1915; a member of the Men's Bible Class, a trustee and member of the church official board for many years. He was named in honorary steward when ill health forced him to become inactive.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mamie Myers of Youngstown, OH; two brothers, Alvin Williams of New Philadelphia, OH and Charles Williams of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
