Frank Ausman Grounds

February 10, 1897 — June 21, 1959

Frank Ausman Grounds, 62, of Conneaut Lake, died at City Hospital, Sunday, June 21, 1959, after a short illness.

Grounds, former manager of the Meadville Lumber Co., was born in Pittsburgh February 10, 1897, a son of William H. and Molly Drebert Grounds.  He attended Pittsburgh public schools and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Grounds worked as a cost accountant for the Pittsburgh offices of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad, leaving to do special accounting work for the Vesta Coal Co.  After 15 years with the Brownsville Lumber Co., he came to Meadville in 1935 as manager of the Meadville Lumber Co.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Straw of Meadville; a brother, Herbert H. Grounds of Toledo, OH; a niece, Mrs. Richard Staley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
