Frank Catalano, Sr., 83, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at Spencer Hospital Wednesday, February 6, 1985, after becoming ill suddenly at home.
He was born at Benevento, Italy, January 30, 1902, a son of Marino and Carmella Agresta Catalano. He married Josephine Parise April 7, 1937.
He emigrated to the US at age 12 in 1914 and became a naturalized citizen in 1937. He took disability retirement in 1950 from Erie Railroad, where he had been employed as a machinist for 34 years. He was a member of Italian Civic Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Grace) Teed of Meadville and Mrs. Carmella Lance of Andover, OH; a son, Frank Catalano, Jr. of Cambridge Springs; a brother, Joseph Catalano of Meadville; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Entombment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum.
