Frank D. Baird, 90, operator of the Meadville grocery store for several years, died Friday, December 25, 1953, at his home on Alden Street.
He was born June 28, 1863.
He had operated a grocery store at the intersection of Alden and Arch Streets several years before retiring soon after his wife, the former Mary Franklin, died about two years ago.
Born June 28, 1863, he moved to Meadville while a youth and lived here most of his life. Before operating the store, he operated a soft drink distributorship many years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Meadville Grange, and Meadville Lodge of BPO Elks.
Survivors are a son, Walter I. Baird of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. Frederick Heyl of Conneautville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alex and Benjamin; and a sister, Mrs. Jane Dyer, all of Meadville.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home and interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
