Frank E. Fidelman, 55, well-known resident of Black Ash community, died in Spencer Hospital, Meadville, yesterday from the effects of an accident that occurred at Meadville Monday night.
Mr. Fidelman was employed as a machinist in the Erie Railroad shops in Meadville and was enroute to his work. As he was about to turn his car from Water street into Mead Avenue, a pedestrian stepped from the curb. Mr. Fidelman applied his brakes quickly and a car that was back of him crashed into his car.
Mr. Fidelman was thrown against the windshield and suffered a serious concussion, although he continued to the shops and worked for a time before being taken home. On Wednesday, he was removed to the hospital, and on Thursday submitted to an operation.
Mr. Fidelman came to the Black Ash community from Crafton in 1925 and had taken an active part in neighborhood affairs. He was a member of the Black Ash Methodist church.
He leaves his wife, Blanche E. Fidelman and three brothers, Robert K. of Washington, Joseph of Pittsburgh and Capt. Arthur W. Fidelman of Wendover Field, UT.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
