Frank G. Schreck

Frank G. Schreck, 91, of 8058 Schreck Rd., Meadville, died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born November 8, 1911 in Meadville, a son of the late Frank J. and Anna Johnson Schreck.  He married Grace Gander May 21, 1945 and she preceded him in death April 10, 1997.

He was a graduate of Meadville High School.  He was a self-employed farmer for most of his life and subsequently worked in production at the American Viscose for 10 years.  He especially enjoyed attending the Avtex retirees’ breakfasts.  He was formerly active with the Oil City Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include 2 sons, Frank J. Schreck and his wife Ruth and James Schreck and his wife Pam, all of Meadville; 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Betty) Galvin and her husband Gerald of St. Louis, MO and Mary Wineland and her husband Edgar of Meadville; 9 grandchildren, Kathy Field, Kim Manning, Frank and Jenny Schreck, Jeffery, Bradley, and Christina Galvin, and Amanda and Abagayle Schreck; 8 step-grandchildren, Rayni Wright, Kim deSenerpont Domis, Emily Michaels, and Lara, Zoe, Evan, John, and Thomas Moutsos; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and one nephew.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Anne Fye and Evelyn Robison.

Calling hours are today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Robert Manning of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
