Frank I. Dragosavac

Frank I. Dragosavac, 95, formerly of Northgate and Penn Street, Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Sunday, November 9, 2014.

He was born in Meadville December 14, 1919 a son of Francis and Violet Radovic Dragosavac.  He married Rebecca J. Steele June 20, 1944 and she preceded him in death April 7, 2012.

He retired in 1980 as a Fireman on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad after 13 years of service.  Previously he had worked as a meat cutter at the National Meat Market in Meadville for over 20 years.

He was a 1938 graduate of Meadville High School, a member of St. Agatha Church, the former Meadville Fire Police, S.B. Dick Hose Co., Meadville Elks Lodge 219 and the Meadville Club.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marine.  He was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include six children, Larry J. Dragosavac and his wife Gayle of Dayton, OH, Barbara L. Armstrong and her husband Stan of Guys Mills, Robert F. Dragosavac and his wife Joy of Meadville, Ruth A. Beish and her husband Gary of Meadville, William C. Dragosavac of Pickens, SC and Steven J. Dragosavac and his wife Andi of Amarillo, TX; fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, David Beach of Nashville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David G. Dragosavac; two daughters, Joan Dragosavac and Sarah J. Beach; a grandson, Joshua L. Dragosavac; four brothers, Marshall, William, Charles and George Dragosavac and four sisters, Blanche Poux, Verna Mossman, Lillian Bainbridge and Violet Morris.

Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Johnathan P. Schmolt, Pastor of St. Brigid Church, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Meadville Auxiliary Police, 894 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335.
