Frank L. Sanner

Frank L. Sanner, 64, of 27215 Guys Mills Rd., Meadville, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in the Transitional Care Unit of Meadville Medical Center, after battling cancer for many years.

He was born July 13, 1938 in Guys Mills, a son of the late Charles (Chad) and Margot Anna (Chellman) Sanner.  He married MaryJo Bennsinger September 29, 1962 and she survives.

He was a 1957 graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School and a graduate of the Orajean Barber School, Erie.  He first worked as a barber for 10 years at several area barbershops, and then in the labor force for PPG Industries for 25 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, part-time farming, and promoting wildlife and conservation.

He was a member of Townville Baptist Church and a former member of Wayland Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 40 years, include a daughter, Jody L. Slingluff and her husband Allen of Townville; a son, David S. Sanner and his wife Kristy of Meadville; 3 sisters, Ella Mae Terrill and her husband James of Vero Beach, FL; Margot (Peg) Heme and her husband Thomas of Guys Mills; and Grace Bohnert and her husband Neil of Meadville; a brother, Ronald R. Sanner and his wife Virginia of Guys Mills; 3 grandsons, Scott F. Sanner, Adam J. Slingluff, and Andrew S. Sanner.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sanner.

Calling hours will be Friday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Townville Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Levan, Retired Baptist minister officiating.

Burial will be in Wayland Cemetery, East Mead Township.
