Frank O. Branstrom

Frank O. Branstrom, 98, formerly of South Euclid, OH and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since April 2008, died there Thursday, October 14, 2010 following a period of declining health.

He was born June 19, 1912 in Akeley (Warren Co.), PA a son of the late Frank and Mary Michelson Branstrom.  He married Gene Harkless August 28, 1937 and she preceded him in death September 27, 2003.

He worked in the machine tool industry as a mechanical engineer at Weatherhead Manufacturing and at National Acme both in Cleveland, OH for over 40 years, retiring in 1977.  He was a 1930 graduate of Pine Grove High School in Russell, PA.  He then received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) in 1934.  He was a long-time member of South Euclid-Hillcrest Methodist Church, South Euclid, OH.

Survivors, include: two daughters, Karrin Jones and her husband Wallace of Green Cove Springs, FL and Nancy Haytock and her husband Benjamin of Meadville; three grandchildren, Jennifer A. Haytock of Brockport, NY, B. Dawson Haytock and his wife Kimberly of Pittsburgh and Kimberly White and her husband Malcolm Blackshaw of Wheaton, IL; three great grandchildren, Henry Walczak, Benjamin M. Haytock and Elizabeth Grace Haytock and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brett White; two brothers, Edwin Branstrom and Carl Branstrom and five sisters, Mabel Branstrom, Ethel Carlson, Florence Miller, Ruth Werner and an infant sister, Edith Branstrom.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 - 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor, officiating.

Interment with committal service will be at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Wesbury Foundation, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
